Our Permaculture Farm & Eco-Village
Working towards self reliance as a community in the Baja desert.
Rancho Pacifico Baja is located 7km towards the Sierra de la Laguna mountains from the town of el Pescadero, home to some of the best surfing spots in Baja Sur. Being 45 minutes north from Cabo San Lucas, 1 hour from La Paz and 15 minutes from Todos Santos, make this property a central location in Baja Sur.
We have been developing an “eco-village” on our 15-acre rancho in Baja Sur since 2019. The idea that with similar people, which prefer a deep connection with nature and a desire for self-sufficiency, together will gain independence and ultimately freedom from the “system” to support ourselves well into the future.
This eco-village will aim to integrate our ecological values within a principle-based approach to sustainability like permaculture design. This approach promotes ecosystem function, biodiversity and sustainability. Also, with like-minded individuals the potential is exciting during such uncertain times where we need community more than ever.
Zoned for agriculture and eco-tourism our Rancho is a perfect location for an alternative Baja experience. Wildlife is abundant with stunning views of both the Pacific Ocean and the Sierra de la Laguna mountains. With a network of hiking trails, we offer opportunities for bird watching and wildlife viewing while exploring some of Baja’s most iconic desert species and traditional medicinal plants.
Communal areas include: Solar power, Kitchen, Wifi, Hot water, Hot shower, Garden shower, Composting toilets, Washing machine and clothesline, 2 Refrigerators, 2 stoves, Wood fired brick oven, and includes a beautifully crafted large Palapa which is used as a lounge and multi-purpose space. We also operate a small campground and have glamping sites which are available for your visitors or family if needed. Many patio areas and gardens were created around the common areas for enjoyment by all.

How we do this
We live as equals on shared land, creating economic independence and resilience, while using appropriate technology consciously.
We use natural and organic systems (as much as possible) to meet our needs for water, food, shelter and energy, reducing our impact on the Earth while creating life-giving abundance.
We educate ourselves and our children in wholesome, holistic and creative ways, connecting us to our daily experience, both now and for the future.
We live with integrity, respect and empathy, as we communicate and journey together, with each person in the community taking responsibility for our decision-making processes.
We are supportive of the individual’s unique expression and life purpose, as we find the meeting ground for us all to live together in.
